DAUSA — Rohit Sharma, the 30-year-old founder of the tea cafe chain ‘Chaiwalaz’, allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Saket Colony, Dausa, police confirmed on Sunday. Family members discovered him hanging in his room on Saturday afternoon and forced open the door to rush him to the district hospital, where attending doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Local Kotwali police station officials reported that the body was handed over to the family following a post-mortem examination, while the exact motives behind the incident remain under investigation.

Sharma began his entrepreneurial efforts at the age of 17 while pursuing nursing studies, establishing his initial ‘Chaiwalaz’ outlet at Shipra Path in Mansarovar, Jaipur. Over the years, the startup expanded rapidly to include seven tea cafes across multiple cities. Aside from his commercial ventures, Sharma actively participated in community social service activities throughout Dausa.

Survived by his father, who runs a local medical shop, his wife, a schoolteacher, and their seven-year-old son, Sharma had made significant changes to his life in recent months. Approximately six months prior to the incident, he closed down all seven of his business outlets to focus on spiritual endeavours, spending time visiting various religious sites across the country. Authorities continue to look into his recent activities as part of the ongoing inquiry.
