Chief Minister Interacts with International Students from 14 Countries

Chandigarh: The Foreign Cooperation Department is making sustained efforts to connect Haryana with the world through a ‘Go Global’ approach and expand international opportunities for the youth. As part of these efforts, Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, on Wednesday, interacted with a delegation of international students studying at various universities in Haryana at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir.

Students from 14 countries studying at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, participated in the interaction.

The Chief Minister said that the world is changing rapidly. Artificial Intelligence, robotics and other modern technologies have created new opportunities across various sectors, including education, healthcare and agriculture. In such a scenario, young people must continue to learn, embrace new technologies and keep pace with the changing world. He said that youth should move forward with a ‘Go Global’ approach and take advantage of opportunities available worldwide. Education, he added, is not the final destination in life, but the beginning of the journey ahead.

During the programme, the Chief Minister interacted directly with the students about their studies and research work. He asked them about the new insights they had gained through their research and their experience of living and studying in Haryana. The students also shared their experiences with the Chief Minister, speaking about education and research, the academic environment at universities, Haryana’s culture and their interactions with the people of the State.

Education and Values Gained in Haryana Will Remain with Students Throughout Their Lives – CM

The Chief Minister said that university life is not merely about earning a degree. The knowledge, experiences and memories gained during this period remain with students throughout their lives. When international students studying in Haryana return to their respective countries, they will carry with them and share their experiences of the State.

He said that these students can serve as ‘Brand Ambassadors’ of Haryana by presenting a positive image of the State’s education, culture and their experiences here in their home countries. The Chief Minister called upon the students to use the knowledge and experience gained in Haryana to also contribute to the development of their respective countries.

Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana is a land rich in history and culture. It was on the sacred land of Kurukshetra that Lord Krishna, through the Bhagavad Gita, gave the message of performing one’s duty. He urged the students to move forward in their respective fields with hard work, dedication and a spirit of continuous learning.

The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all the students for a bright future and said that the time spent in Haryana, along with the education and experiences gained here, would remain a valuable part of their lives.

Haryana Government Believes Not Just in G2G, but in Heart-to-Heart Relations- CM

Nayab Singh Saini said that the Haryana Government believes in building relations with the world not merely through G2G, or Government-to-Government engagement, but also through heart-to-heart connections.

He said that taking forward the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the message of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, and the State Government is carrying forward the same spirit.

The Chief Minister said that international students who come to Haryana for education do not merely return with a degree; they also carry with them an understanding of Haryana’s culture, traditions and people. Through these students, people-to-people connections will be strengthened, further deepening mutual understanding, cooperation and trust between Haryana and their respective countries.

Afghan Student Among Participants from African and Other Countries

The interaction brought together students from various countries, including African nations. Among them was a student from Afghanistan who completed her PhD at Haryana Agricultural University and shared her experiences of spending seven years in Haryana. A notable aspect of her interaction was that she spoke entirely in Hindi.

Other students also shared their research and academic experiences with the Chief Minister and said that their stay in Haryana had provided them an opportunity not only to pursue their respective fields of study but also to understand Indian and Haryanvi culture.

New Opportunity for Haryana Students to Study in the UK

Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department, Amneet P. Kumar, informed the Chief Minister that sustained efforts are being made to provide Haryana students with greater opportunities for higher education and research abroad. She said that Haryana students would soon have an opportunity to study at a university in the United Kingdom and a programme in this regard would be launched shortly.

She said that such initiatives would provide Haryana’s youth opportunities to study abroad and gain exposure to new technologies, emerging disciplines and advanced methods of learning. These opportunities would also help them access better employment and career prospects in the future. The Department is working to ensure that more youth from Haryana get opportunities to pursue education and enhance their skills at the global level, she said.

The Chief Minister also emphasised increasing academic collaboration and MoUs between universities in Haryana and foreign universities. Special directions were also issued regarding the visa process.
