Jalandhar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address the closing rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s statewide “Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatras” in Jalandhar on September 30. The twelve-day anti-drug campaign, running from September 18 to September 30, aims to mobilize public support across all 117 assembly constituencies in Punjab, with a core emphasis on rallying youth against substance abuse and narco-trafficking.
The mass mobilisation will officially commence on September 18 from Ekta Sthal in Sujanpur, Pathankot, where BJP National President Nitin Nabin will flag off the initial leg. The comprehensive initiative consists of four distinct routes spanning nearly 4,000 kilometres across the state. The planned corridors include routes running from Sujanpur in Pathankot to Jalandhar Cantt, Fatehgarh Sahib to Phagwara, Fazilka to Ludhiana, and Talwandi Sabo to Rajpura.
Several senior leaders are slated to participate in the statewide campaign at various intervals, including Union Cabinet Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Arjun Ram Meghwal, alongside Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The campaign will conclude with all four marches converging in Jalandhar on September 30, where Shah will deliver the keynote address to cap off the party’s major outreach drive.
