Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the completion of 60 years of Haryana’s formation. He said that the six-decade journey was not merely a story of the creation and development of a new state, but also a saga of struggle, hard work, self-respect, dedication to duty and collective resolve, which had earned Haryana a distinct identity on the national stage.

The Governor was addressing the Heerak Jayanti (Diamond Jubilee) celebrations organised on the occasion of Haryana Day at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, on Sunday. President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was also present at the ceremony.
He said that Haryana, as an agriculture-based state, had played a significant role in India’s Green Revolution. Today, the state is a leader in agriculture, industry, education, technology and sports. From the towering skyscrapers of Gurugram to the traditional wrestling arenas in villages, Haryana has demonstrated that tradition and modernity can go hand in hand.
Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh said that only Viksit Haryana could play a significant role in building Viksit Bharat. Just as the health and strength of every organ of the human body are essential for the well-being of the entire body, the development of every state is necessary for the overall progress of the country. The comprehensive development of all states, including Haryana, will form the foundation of Viksit Bharat.
