Chandigarh: Dr. Sudha Yadav, the newly appointed Governor of Karnataka, received a grand and emotional welcome on Sunday during her maiden visit to her husband’s native village, Dhamlawas (Rewari), after assuming office. The grand reception by the local residents coincided with the auspicious occasions of Haryana Day and Karnataka Rajyotsava.
Upon her arrival, the district administration accorded a formal ‘Guard of Honour’ to the Governor, while the local villagers and elders greeted her warmly with floral garlands and traditional hospitality.
Extending her heartfelt greetings on the foundation days of both states, the Governor highlighted the beautiful coincidence that November 1 marks the foundation day of both her home state, Haryana, and her state of service, Karnataka. She prayed for the continuous progress of both regions and the prosperity of their citizens.
The high-profile event witnessed the presence of several senior administrative officials and prominent public figures, including Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abhishek Meena, Superintendent of Police (SP) Hemendra Meena, and SDM Dalbir Singh.
