Telangana: A shocking multiple murder case has emerged from Telangana’s Rangareddy district, where a man accused in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case allegedly killed six people, including the minor complainant, before fleeing the scene. Police have launched an intensive search to trace the accused, who remains absconding.
According to investigators, the accused, identified as 35-year-old Raju Kumar, is suspected of first attacking the minor girl who had accused him in the POCSO case. The girl’s mother and grandmother were also allegedly killed during the assault at their residence under the jurisdiction of Shabad police station.
Police said the violence did not end there. The accused is also believed to have returned to his own home, where he allegedly murdered his wife and two young children, taking the overall death toll to six.
Officials revealed that after the killings, the accused reportedly contacted his relatives over the phone and informed them that he had eliminated both families. During the conversation, he allegedly indicated that he intended to end his own life before disconnecting the call.
Following the alert, police teams rushed to the locations and recovered the bodies. The victims have been sent for post-mortem examinations as forensic experts continue collecting evidence from the crime scenes.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Raju Kumar had earlier been arrested under the POCSO Act but was out on bail at the time of the incident. Authorities are examining whether the murders were linked to the pending case involving the minor survivor.
Police said the victim’s family lived in Shahbad, while the accused belongs to Raiwalaguda. Multiple teams have been deployed to track him, and searches are being carried out in neighbouring areas. Officials have not ruled out the possibility that he may attempt to flee the region.
Senior police officers stated that all angles are being investigated, including the sequence of events leading to the killings and the accused’s movements after the crime. Authorities have appealed to the public to share any information that could help locate the suspect, while assuring that efforts to arrest him are underway.
