Bulandshahr: Two people, including a nine-year-old girl, were killed and 24 others injured after a roadways bus collided with a dumper truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district early Friday, police said.
The accident occurred at around 4.30 am near Shikarpur in the Khurja area when the bus, travelling from Delhi to Kanpur, rammed into a dumper truck moving ahead of it, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Abhishek Kumar Singh said.
Nine-Year-Old Girl Among Two Killed
The deceased have been identified as nine-year-old Radhika and 32-year-old Babli.
According to the official, Radhika was brought dead to the hospital, while Babli succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
The 24 injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals following the accident. While some were admitted to government hospitals, others were taken to private medical facilities.
Four of the injured were referred to Aligarh for further treatment.
Senior Officials Visit Accident Site, Hospital
Bulandshahr District Magistrate Kumar Harsh and Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh visited the accident site and reviewed the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The officials later visited Kailash Hospital to enquire about the condition of the injured and review the medical treatment being provided to them.
Authorities have been directed to ensure proper medical care for all those injured in the accident, the ADM said.
