Education Minister Conducts Surprise Inspections of Three Schools, Reviews Facilities and Administrative Arrangements

Chandigarh: Haryana Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda is taking proactive steps to strengthen the state’s government education system and bring about comprehensive improvements at the grassroots level in government schools. With the objective of strengthening infrastructure and bringing greater administrative discipline in government educational institutions across the state, the Education Minister is personally visiting schools to assess the situation on the ground.

As part of this initiative, the Education Minister conducted surprise inspections of three government schools on Monday. He first visited the Government Primary School and Government High School at Raipur Roran village in the Nilokheri area of Karnal district. Thereafter, he visited the ‘PM SHRI’ Government Senior Secondary School, Saha, in Ambala. During the inspections, the Minister closely reviewed cleanliness on the school premises, basic facilities such as drinking water and toilets, as well as administrative arrangements.

 Direct interaction with Sarpanches, SMCs and students

 During the inspections, Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda took a new and sensitive initiative. He called the Panches and Sarpanches of the respective villages to the spot so that local-level issues could be discussed immediately. Thereafter, the Minister interacted with the School Management Committees (SMCs) and visited each classroom to directly interact with students. He sought detailed information from them regarding the level of studies, availability of books and other problems.

The Education Minister issued directions that problems which can be resolved at the Panchayat or Sarpanch level should be addressed immediately with the cooperation of the local administration and Panchayat. At the same time, regarding issues falling within the jurisdiction of the Education Department, the Minister gave a firm assurance that these would be resolved at the earliest on priority.

Plan to transform 1,500 government schools

 During the visit, the Education Minister said the Haryana Education Department is fully committed to developing government schools across the state as model educational institutions. For this purpose, the department has prepared a detailed and phased plan.In the first phase of the plan, 1,500 government schools across the state have been identified, where a better academic environment, modern basic facilities and necessary resources will be provided. After completion of the first phase, all other government schools will also be renovated in a phased manner so that quality education can be ensured in government schools on the lines of private schools.

Strict stance against negligence, emphasis on cleanliness

The Education Minister directed departmental officers that no laxity or negligence in the functioning of government educational institutions would be tolerated. Interacting with teachers and principals, he said teachers should discharge their responsibilities with complete sincerity and dedication. He also directed that special attention be paid to cleanliness in schools and said that a clean environment forms the foundation for the holistic development of children.

 Notably, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda has been personally visiting government schools to assess the situation on the ground and review issues requiring attention. During these visits, efforts are being made to address concerns at the appropriate level and strengthen the functioning of government educational institutions. In recent days, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda has conducted surprise inspections of three government colleges and five government schools across the state. These continuous visits have increased accountability among officers and employees of the Education Department, while also strengthening the confidence of the general public and students in the government education system.
