Chandigarh: Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sh. Vipul Goel said that all public representatives and officers are servants of the people and it should be the constant endeavour of everyone to ensure that every grievance of citizens is resolved within a stipulated time frame.

Vipul Goel was chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Narnaul on Monday. During the meeting, 10 pre-scheduled grievances were heard in detail.

The Cabinet Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the State Government is fully committed to functioning with complete transparency, impartiality and accountability.

Taking cognisance of the waterlogging issue during the meeting, the Minister directed the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department to visit the site and examine the technical feasibility so that the department concerned could take the work forward in a systematic and effective manner.

Necessary directions were also issued for the repair of parks in Narnaul and to address the issue of stray cattle. Regarding contaminated water at Peepla Wali Bani in Kanina, officers informed the committee that a pond would be constructed over an area of seven acres in the village. Tenders for the work have already been floated, and the project is expected to provide a permanent solution to the problem.

While hearing another grievance concerning alleged irregularities in the construction of sheds and boards in several villages, the Revenue Minister directed that the matter be referred to the Vigilance Department for investigation.

Regarding the suspicious death of a youth at the dam in Banihari village, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sh. Bharat Bhushan informed the committee that the viscera had been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, Madhuban, for examination. Strict legal action, as per rules, would be taken after receipt of the laboratory report and the final opinion of the doctors.
