Hearing a petition regarding the sensitive matter, the court sought a complete briefing on the investigative steps taken so far and the current standing of law enforcement actions in the case.
The bench refrained from issuing a formal notice to the state government at this stage, focusing instead on examining the official status report before deciding on further judicial directions. During the proceedings, the court questioned the legal premise of attributing direct culpability to individuals merely based on their presence at public gatherings without established evidence of abetment.
