HATHRAS — Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district have arrested a 25-year-old unmarried man for allegedly raping his 63-year-old mother in an inebriated state at their village residence, law enforcement officials confirmed on Saturday.
The incident occurred at around 9:00 PM on Thursday within the jurisdiction of the Sikandra Rao Kotwali police station. According to the formal complaint lodged by the accused’s elder brother, the suspect entered the family home under the influence of alcohol while their mother was asleep, overpowered her, and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the premises.
Sikandra Rao Circle Officer Amit Pathak confirmed that a case was promptly registered following the elder brother’s complaint, leading to the apprehension of the accused. The survivor was immediately transported to the district hospital for a mandatory medical examination.
Investigating officers stated that a comprehensive probe is currently underway to document forensic evidence, and additional legal proceedings will be pursued based on the findings.
