Chandigarh: Haryana Labour Minister Anil Vij said that the State Government remains fully committed to the welfare and social security of construction workers across Haryana. In line with this commitment, and considering the long-pending demand of construction workers, the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board has reopened the workers’ registration portal to ensure that genuine and eligible workers can avail themselves of various government welfare schemes in a timely manner.
Anil Vij said that the Government’s objective is to ensure that the benefits of labour welfare schemes reach only genuine and eligible beneficiaries while maintaining complete transparency and accountability in the system. With this objective in mind, the registration process has now been resumed under a more robust framework following an examination of complaints and irregularities reported earlier.
He further informed that the online portal for fresh registration of construction workers has been reopened. In addition, the membership renewal process has also been restarted for those workers who were found eligible during the verification and inquiry process.
The Labour Minister said that while protecting the interests of workers, the Government has also taken balanced measures to preserve the integrity of the system. For cases where registrations were found invalid or ineligible during the inquiry process, a fair mechanism has been established. A Grievance Redressal Committee comprising field-level officers has been constituted to address complaints and objections from such workers. Concerned workers will be able to present their cases before the committee as per the prescribed procedure, and each matter will be considered impartially.
Anil Vij emphasized that workers are the backbone of the State’s development and that Haryana’s infrastructure and development projects are built through their hard work and dedication. Therefore, the Government accords the highest priority to their social security, financial assistance, and welfare benefits.
He further said that the Government will ensure that, in the future, the registration process remains completely transparent, technology-driven, and compliant with verification standards so that the possibility of any irregularity is eliminated and eligible workers receive benefits without any hindrance. Vij appealed to all eligible construction workers to complete their registration or renewal by following the prescribed guidelines and submitting the required documents, thereby enabling them to benefit from the various welfare schemes being implemented by the Government.
He reiterated that the Haryana Government and the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board are fully committed to safeguarding the interests of genuine workers and ensuring that welfare benefits reach them in a transparent and effective manner. The Government’s goal is to ensure that no eligible worker is deprived of the benefits of welfare schemes and that every labour welfare initiative reaches the rightful beneficiary, he added.
