24-Year-Old Woman Found Dead Under Bridge in Sangrur, Police Suspect Suicide

Sangrur: Panic spread in Sangrur city on Thursday morning after the body of a 24-year-old woman was found beneath the Dhuri Road bridge.

Police teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and immediately launched an investigation. The deceased woman’s sister and brother-in-law also arrived at the scene and were seen grieving as authorities carried out preliminary inquiries.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dalbir Singh Sidhu said initial findings suggest that the case appears to be a suicide. However, he clarified that the exact cause of death would only be determined after the post-mortem examination and the completion of the investigation.

The body has been sent to the mortuary of Civil Hospital, Sangrur, for post-mortem examination. Police officials said that all possible angles are being examined and further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.

According to the victim’s relatives, the young woman had not returned home on Wednesday night. They were informed about the incident through a phone call on Thursday morning, following which they rushed to the location.

Police said the matter is being investigated thoroughly and that the post-mortem report is awaited to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
