Washington: The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified Nitish Kaushal as a wanted individual in connection with an investigation into an alleged transnational criminal network accused of carrying out a range of serious offences across multiple countries.
In a statement shared on social media, the FBI alleged that Kaushal is linked to an organisation believed to have originated in Punjab, India, and later expanded its operations into the United States, including California’s Central District, along with other international locations.
According to the federal agency, the group is under investigation for its alleged involvement in crimes such as murder, kidnapping, narcotics trafficking, extortion, illegal weapons trade, money laundering, and human smuggling.
The FBI stated that the organisation is suspected of operating across borders through an extensive criminal network, making it the subject of an ongoing international law enforcement investigation. However, the agency has not disclosed additional details regarding Kaushal’s current whereabouts or the timeline of the alleged offences.
Authorities have appealed to the public for information that could assist in locating the wanted suspect. The FBI has urged anyone with credible leads to contact the agency through its official channels.
The latest development comes as US authorities continue to intensify efforts against organised transnational crime, particularly networks accused of using international routes for financial crimes, trafficking operations, and violent offences.
No response from Kaushal or his legal representatives was immediately available following the FBI’s announcement. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are expected as authorities continue their efforts.
