Nagpur: An atmosphere of intense panic gripped Nerla village near Ramtek in Nagpur district after forty cobra hatchlings were discovered inside the residence of a local villager, Raju Dhomne. The startling news of dozens of highly venomous snakes hiding under a single roof spread rapidly throughout the area, causing widespread anxiety among the local residents who feared for their safety.
Upon spotting the hatchlings inside their living quarters, the Dhomne family immediately contacted local snake rescuers and the regional forest department. Responding swiftly to the emergency call, Ratan Kumbhare, a dedicated wildlife enthusiast and head of the ‘Wild Challenger’ organization in the Chachar region, rushed to the site with his specialized rescue team to manage the delicate situation.
Locating and capturing forty highly venomous cobra hatchlings concealed in various dark corners of the residential house proved to be an incredibly hazardous and high-stakes operation. Demonstrating exceptional professional skill, patience, and caution, Kumbhare and his team systematically extracted the young cobras one by one over several hours, ensuring that not a single snake was harmed during the extensive rescue process.
Following the successful extraction, the rescue team strictly adhered to established wildlife protection protocols by notifying the Ramtek Forest Department. An official documentation report was formally registered at the forest office in the presence of Assistant Conservator of Forests Govind Kumar Luche and Range Forest Officer Rahul Shinde. After completing the mandatory regulatory paperwork, all forty cobra hatchlings were transported far away from human settlements and safely released into their natural forest habitat, prompting the relieved Dhomne family and local forest officials to express deep gratitude to the rescue team for averting a major danger.
