Eight of 15 complaints resolved on the spot at District Grievances Committee meeting
Chandigarh: Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Ranbir Gangwa said the state government is committed to ensuring that every complainant receives fair and timely redressal of grievances.
Chairing a meeting of the District Grievances Committee at the Panipat District Secretariat on Thursday, the Minister heard public complaints and reviewed the action taken by the departments concerned. Of the 15 complaints placed before the committee, eight were resolved on the spot, while seven were kept pending for detailed action and further consideration at the next meeting.
Ranbir Gangwa said that under the guidance of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh, the state government accords the highest priority to resolving issues faced by citizens. District Grievances Committee meetings are held every month to provide complainants and all concerned parties an opportunity to present their case before decisions are taken on the basis of facts.
He stressed that the government is committed to fairness and that no party should face injustice. Every individual must be given an adequate opportunity to present their case, and decisions should be taken impartially after hearing all sides.
The Minister directed officers not to treat public complaints as a mere formality. Instead, they should examine each matter thoroughly and work towards a lasting solution. Wherever negligence is detected, responsibility should be fixed in accordance with the rules.
Referring to public welfare initiatives, Gangwa said the government is implementing several schemes and working to ensure that the benefits of the Har Ghar Jal programme reach every eligible household.
He also highlighted challenges caused by rising water levels during the rainy season, which can lead to waterlogging and related problems in several areas. The departments concerned should work continuously to address such issues and maintain effective arrangements to prevent disruption to drinking water supply and other essential services, he added.
Panipat MLA, Pramod Vij, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Harish Kumar Vashisht, Superintendent of Police, Bhupender Singh and officials from various departments attended the meeting.
