Rs. 24.16 crore approved for development of the two destinations as tourism hubs

Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has stepped up efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure at the state’s important historical and religious destinations. As part of this initiative, the Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads) has accorded administrative approval of approximately Rs. 24.16 crore for pending development works at Adi Badri and Lohgarh-Bhagwanpur in Yamunanagar district.

Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Ranbir Gangwa said both destinations hold considerable historical, religious and cultural significance. Strengthening tourism-related facilities in these areas is therefore among the government’s priorities. The estimate prepared for completing the remaining works under the project has now been approved.

The Minister said the role of the Public Works Department extends beyond construction to ensuring that important heritage and tourism destinations across Haryana are supported by quality infrastructure and improved accessibility. The comprehensive development of Adi Badri and Lohgarh-Bhagwanpur is expected to provide better amenities to pilgrims and tourists while unlocking the region’s tourism potential.

He added that all pending works under the project would be completed in accordance with prescribed standards. By creating stronger infrastructure around places of religious and historical importance, the government also aims to encourage tourism-led economic activity and generate additional employment opportunities for local communities.

Ranbir Gangwa said Haryana would continue the planned development of significant heritage and cultural destinations so that the state’s rich history, traditions and legacy can reach a wider audience in India and abroad.
