Exhibition held at Haryana Civil Secretariat from August 24 to 27

Chandigarh: To acquaint the younger generation with the glorious history of the freedom movement and the struggle, sacrifice and valour of freedom fighters, the Haryana Archives Department organised an exhibition of historical and rare records at the Haryana Civil Secretariat, Sector-1, Chandigarh, from August 24 to 27. Important and rare historical documents, archival records and other material related to the freedom struggle were displayed at the exhibition.

The main objective of the exhibition was to take the glorious saga of the contribution, sacrifice and valour of the heroes of the freedom struggle to the people and acquaint the younger generation with the history of the country’s freedom movement.

Contribution of women freedom fighters also highlighted

The exhibition also prominently highlighted the significant role played by women in the freedom struggle. Many women freedom fighters actively participated in the freedom movement with indomitable courage, sacrifice and dedication. Historical records and documents relating to their contribution were also displayed at the exhibition.

Officers, employees and other visitors viewed the exhibition and gained important information about the glorious past of the country and the state through the rare historical documents on display.

The Archives Department is continuously making efforts towards the preservation and promotion of historical records and ensuring that this invaluable heritage is safely passed on to future generations.
