Hansi: Panic gripped Haryana’s Hansi city on Wednesday morning after a gym owner was shot dead by unidentified assailants near Fawara Chowk in a brazen firing incident. The attackers reportedly fired around 10 rounds before fleeing the scene, leaving the victim dead on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Kapil, who owned and operated a local gym in the area. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 6 a.m. when Kapil was conducting a fitness session for a group of young men and women near a commercial complex.
Eyewitnesses said two motorcycle-borne attackers, wearing helmets to conceal their identities, arrived at the location and opened fire at close range. Kapil sustained multiple bullet injuries and succumbed instantly before medical help could reach him.
A young woman identified as Shikha was also injured during the attack after being struck by bullet fragments. She was rushed to a private hospital in Hisar, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
The shocking incident created chaos in the area, with local residents gathering at the scene soon after the firing. Police teams reached the spot immediately and cordoned off the area to begin investigations.
Given the seriousness of the case, teams from the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and forensic experts were also called in to collect evidence and examine the crime scene. Investigators are scanning CCTV footage from nearby establishments and questioning eyewitnesses in an effort to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the murder.
Police officials said multiple angles are being examined and efforts are underway to trace the suspects who managed to escape after carrying out the attack.
The killing has sparked concern among residents, with many demanding swift action against those responsible.
