Jerusalem: Air raid sirens echoed across parts of West Asia early Sunday after multiple countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, and Israel, reported potential missile and drone threats, prompting emergency responses and public safety advisories.
Authorities in Bahrain issued urgent instructions for residents to seek shelter after warning sirens were activated in several areas. The Interior Ministry urged people to stay calm and move to designated safe zones as a precautionary measure amid rising regional tensions.
In Kuwait, the Ministry of Defence confirmed it had responded to what it described as “hostile missile and drone activity,” indicating a serious escalation in the security situation. Officials did not immediately disclose the extent of any damage or casualties.
Meanwhile, in Israel, the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected missiles launched from Iran and initiated interception procedures. Civil defence alerts were also issued, instructing residents in affected regions to take cover. A short while later, authorities indicated that the immediate threat had passed, allowing people to exit shelters.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region linked to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict. Adding to concerns, Aluminium Bahrain confirmed that one of its industrial facilities had been targeted in a recent strike. The company reported that two employees sustained minor injuries and said assessments were underway to evaluate the damage.
In a statement, Alba emphasized that ensuring employee safety remains its top priority and that operations are being reviewed to maintain stability.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has reportedly claimed responsibility for targeting key industrial sites in the region, including facilities in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, further intensifying fears of a broader regional escalation.
With multiple nations on alert and military responses underway, the situation remains volatile, as authorities continue to monitor developments and prepare for any further threats.
