New Delhi: Passengers flying out of Delhi Airport faced sudden cancellations on Friday as IndiGo announced that all its departing domestic flights would be suspended until midnight. The airline, India’s largest carrier, cited ongoing operational challenges as the reason for the disruption.

In an official update, Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) confirmed the cancellations, stating, “IndiGo domestic flights departing from Delhi Airport on 5th December 2025 are cancelled till midnight today (till 23:59 hours).” The airport added that flights operated by other carriers were continuing as per schedule, and no disruptions were reported beyond IndiGo’s operations.

DIAL assured passengers that its on-ground teams were working closely with airline staff and other partners to manage the situation and provide assistance to affected travellers. The airport emphasized efforts to mitigate inconvenience and maintain a comfortable passenger experience despite the large-scale cancellations.

The move comes amid a period of significant operational strain for IndiGo, which has faced repeated flight delays and cancellations in recent weeks due to staffing shortages, scheduling challenges, and winter-related air traffic congestion.

Passengers affected by the cancellations are being advised to check their flight status online, contact the airline directly, or approach airport helpdesks for rebooking and assistance. Industry experts note that such large-scale disruptions could have a ripple effect on connecting flights and travel plans, particularly during the busy winter travel season.
