Donald Trump Warns Iran of Intensified Strikes if No Deal Reached Within Weeks

Washington: US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that Washington will escalate military action over the next two to three weeks if a peace agreement is not reached.

In a televised address, Trump said the ongoing US military campaign, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” is nearing its objectives but could intensify significantly in the absence of diplomatic progress. He warned that key Iranian infrastructure, including power facilities, could be targeted if negotiations fail.

“We are prepared to act decisively,” Trump said, adding that the US would continue its operations until its strategic goals are achieved.

The remarks come amid rising tensions in West Asia, where the conflict has already disrupted global energy supplies and heightened geopolitical uncertainty. Despite concerns over the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, Trump indicated that reopening the vital shipping route is not an immediate military objective, expressing confidence that it would resume normal operations after the conflict subsides.

He also claimed that Iran’s leadership structure has been severely weakened, suggesting that new figures in power are more open to dialogue. However, he reiterated that the US is closely monitoring Iran’s nuclear activities and would respond strongly to any escalation.

Meanwhile, diplomatic channels remain active. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has acknowledged receiving communications from US envoy Steve Witkoff, though formal negotiations have yet to take shape.

Trump also addressed concerns over rising fuel prices, attributing the spike to Iranian actions in the region, including attacks on commercial vessels. He urged countries affected by supply disruptions to explore alternative sources, including US exports.

The situation remains fluid, with global markets and governments closely watching developments as the deadline for potential escalation approaches.
