Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shyam Singh Rana said that the State Government is committed to safeguarding the interests of farmers and that no farmer would be put to unnecessary inconvenience during paddy procurement. He said every single grain of paddy brought by farmers to the grain markets would be procured. Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure transparency in the procurement process, and strict action would be taken in case of any irregularity.
The Cabinet Minister was interacting with officers at the Market Committee office in Kurukshetra Grain Market on Monday to review the ongoing paddy procurement operations. He also interacted with traders and farmers and listened to their concerns. He directed the officers to ensure smooth procurement operations in the markets and said that no one should face any difficulty or inconvenience during the process. On receiving information about any issue from any market, officials must ensure its prompt resolution for both traders and farmers.
The Cabinet Minister also obtained a detailed report on the entire procurement process, from the issuance of gate passes to other procurement-related arrangements. He said the State Government is committed to providing better facilities to farmers during the procurement of their produce. Necessary directions have been issued to the officers of the concerned departments to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience while selling their produce at the grain markets.
