London: A thirty-two-year-old delivery driver of Punjabi origin has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of twenty-nine years for the brutal murder of a sex worker in the West Midlands region of England. The sentencing took place at Wolverhampton Crown Court following a high-profile two-week trial that exposed the grim details of the fatal assault.

The convict, Tanvir Singh, a resident of West Bromwich, was found guilty of murdering forty-one-year-old Shara Miller. The victim’s body was discovered on August 11, 2025, near an industrial estate on Woodburn Road in Smethwick. A subsequent post-mortem examination determined that Miller died from strangulation and had also sustained multiple severe injuries to her face and head.

The prosecution established that Singh met Miller on the night of the crime and transported her in his commercial delivery van to an isolated industrial area. An altercation ensued, during which Singh violently attacked and killed her. In an attempt to evade justice, the convict dumped her body and systematically tried to destroy incriminating forensic evidence. Detectives from the West Midlands Police successfully traced and arrested Singh shortly after the incident using an intricate combination of public CCTV footage, forensic analysis, and vehicle-tracking data.

Handing down the life sentence, Judge Michael Chambers KC condemned Singh as a manipulative and cynical individual who demonstrated a complete lack of genuine remorse for his actions. The judge emphasized that the horrific killing had brought immense grief to the victim’s family. Following the verdict, Detective Inspector Jo Davenport stated that a dangerous predator had been taken off the streets, commending the investigative team for their meticulous work. The court also directed that the time Singh has already spent in custody will be deducted from his minimum term.
