Chandigarh, February 11, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investment Summit, scheduled to be held in Mohali from March 13 to 15, 2026, describing it as a decisive step towards accelerating industrial growth in the state.

Chairing a high-level meeting, the Chief Minister said the summit would provide a powerful platform to take Punjab’s industrial progress to new heights. “Punjab has already emerged as a preferred investment destination globally, and this historic summit will further boost industrial development in the state,” he said.

Industry-friendly action plan in focus

Emphasising the need for collective deliberations, the Chief Minister said a consensus-based, industry-friendly action plan would be developed after detailed discussions with international industrial leaders. Praising the entrepreneurial spirit of Punjabis, he remarked, “Punjabis have the courage and capability to excel anywhere in the world.”

The theme of the summit is ‘Punjab Means Business – Policy to Practice.’ The Chief Minister informed that the state government has already organised roadshows in Gurugram, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, as well as in Japan and South Korea.

The summit will feature inaugural and closing sessions, country sessions, plenary sessions and sectoral sessions focusing on various industries.

₹1.50 lakh crore investment proposals received

The Chief Minister stated that the Punjab government has so far received investment proposals worth ₹1.50 lakh crore, which are expected to generate approximately 5.20 lakh employment opportunities for the youth.

He added that major companies such as Tata Steel and Sanatan Textiles have shown keen interest in investing in Punjab.

Industrialisation key to economic revival

Reiterating the government’s commitment, Mann said that while agriculture remains the backbone of the state, it is currently facing multiple challenges. “Comprehensive industrialisation is the only viable solution to revive and strengthen the economy,” he said, urging potential entrepreneurs to invest in Punjab on a large scale.

Highlighting reforms undertaken by the state government, he said that a Green Stamp Paper system has been introduced to ensure faster and seamless regulatory approvals for industrial projects. He also emphasised that Punjab offers a skilled workforce and an industry-friendly ecosystem.

Power security and mega event participation

The Chief Minister stressed that power security is crucial for development and said the government is making every effort to increase electricity generation in the state.

He noted that representatives of leading national and international companies are expected to participate in the mega event. The summit will include exhibitions, seminars and technical sessions, with special focus on emerging technologies and industrial strategies.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also unveiled the logo of the summit. On the occasion, Industries and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora, Chief Secretary K. A. P. Sinha, and other senior officials were present.
