New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday launched a blistering political attack on the Cockroach Janata Party, a satirical youth organization leading intensive demonstrations over the high-profile NEET-UG examination scandals. In an exclusive media interview, Pradhan explicitly branded the viral outfit as the B team of disruptive elements, alleging that the movement is a proxy front for political forces that were completely rejected by citizens in democratic elections.
The minister asserted that the individuals orchestrating the street agitations are attempting to systematically target established institutional frameworks and incite widespread public chaos under a deceptive guise. He alleged that the group routinely raises slogans for elements intent on dividing the country, adding that the true motives of these disguised agitators have been clearly identified by the government. The sharp rhetoric comes in the immediate aftermath of a massive administrative exercise where more than 20 lakh medical aspirants appeared for the nationwide NEET re-examination. The high-stakes re-test was conducted on Sunday under unprecedented, multi-layered security protocols involving paramilitary forces, state police units, and continuous digital monitoring to prevent a repeat of the May 3 paper leak that forced the initial test to be scrapped.
Describing the massive re-examination drive as a definitive operational success executed in record time, Pradhan emphasized that the Ministry of Education has successfully restored institutional credibility and student confidence. However, the minister did not mince words regarding the internal security breaches, labeling the corrupt academic insiders and teachers implicated in the leak as protectors who turned into predators. He declared that these syndicates severely sabotaged a system that shapes the professional futures of millions of dedicated youths and confirmed that a rigorous Central Bureau of Investigation probe is systematically dismantling the network.
Pradhan also utilized the platform to mount a fierce counter-offensive against the principal opposition, accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of actively politicizing student vulnerabilities and attempting to engineer systemic anarchy. He criticized Gandhi for organizing an outreach rally in the coaching hub of Kota days before the re-examination, charging that the opposition was engaging in low-level politics aimed at scaring students and derailing their academic preparations. Looking forward, the minister highlighted that the government is actively implementing structural overhauls, including transitioning future NEET assessments into a Computer-Based Test mode and executing the National Education Plan to build a more resilient, fraud-proof educational landscape.
