New Delhi: President Lee Jae-myung of the Republic of Korea arrived in New Delhi on Sunday, April 19, 2026, marking the beginning of a high-stakes three-day State Visit. Accompanied by the First Lady and a delegation of senior officials, the President was received at Air Force Station Palam with full diplomatic protocols. The visit is intended to significantly deepen the “Special Strategic Partnership” between Seoul and New Delhi, focusing on advanced technology, defence manufacturing, and regional security in the Indo-Pacific.

Immediately following his arrival, the South Korean leader is scheduled to meet with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to establish the framework for the executive-level discussions. The core of the diplomatic engagement will take place on Monday, including a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan and a bilateral summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House. This summit is expected to yield several key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), specifically targeting cooperation in semiconductors, green energy, and the strengthening of the “Make in India” initiative through South Korean engineering expertise.

Beyond government-level talks, the visit emphasizes the importance of private sector collaboration. President Lee will participate in a dedicated Business Forum at Bharat Mandapam, bringing together major industry leaders from both nations to discuss supply chain resilience and investment opportunities. The visit will conclude on Tuesday following a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu, leaving behind a comprehensive roadmap for intensified bilateral cooperation in the coming years.
