Gopalganj: Actor Pankaj Tripathi’s brother was seriously injured after he was allegedly attacked with an axe during a land dispute in Bihar’s Gopalganj district, police officials said on Monday.

The incident occurred late Sunday evening in Belsand village under the Madhopur police station area. According to police, the attack stemmed from an ongoing dispute over land ownership in the village.

Additional Director General (Law and Order) Sudhanshu Kumar said Bijendra Nath Tiwari was assaulted with an axe during the altercation. Following the attack, he was rushed to a hospital in Gopalganj for treatment.

Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors later referred him to a medical facility in Patna, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Police launched an investigation immediately after the incident and arrested the main accused. Authorities also recovered the axe allegedly used in the attack.

Officials said further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the violence and whether others were involved in the assault.

The incident has drawn attention due to the victim’s relation to acclaimed Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi, who hails from Bihar and has earned widespread recognition for his work in films and web series.
