Mumbai: Discovery announced on Friday the upcoming premiere of a two-part documentary titled “Declassified: Operation Sindoor,” which will chronicle India’s multi-domain military response following the Pahalgam terror attack. Scheduled to air on Discovery and the discovery+ streaming platform on August 15 from 9 pm to 11 pm, the documentary series promises to deliver an in-depth, behind-the-scenes account of the planning and execution of the 88-hour military operation.
According to the producers, the project draws upon firsthand accounts from senior leaders across all three branches of the Indian armed forces, active ground operatives, defence analysts, and veteran journalists. The narrative traces the full sequence of events, beginning with strategic deliberations following the April 2025 Pahalgam attack and culminating in the launch and execution of Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025.
The production also serves as the flagship release for Warner Bros. Discovery’s new “Declassified” media franchise, designed to explore pivotal historical and national security events. Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids for South Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery, emphasized that the documentary was created with thorough investigative rigour and sensitivity, using unprecedented access to military leadership to explore the strategic calculations behind the mission.
