Chandigarh: In a significant step towards strengthening roads, transportation and infrastructure in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has taken important decisions as a total of nine proposals were approved during a meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and the High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC), chaired by the Chief Minister in Chandigarh on Monday.
These decisions will strengthen the public transport system, ease traffic movement in urban areas, and expand healthcare and educational infrastructure across the state. Following detailed negotiations with bidders, the government also achieved savings of approximately ₹11.96 crore.
The addition of 500 new buses will enhance the operational capacity of Haryana Roadways, improve connectivity for passengers and help strengthen bus services on various routes.
At the meeting, approval was also granted for the purchase of furniture for the Sant Shiromani Sri Dhanna Bhagat Ji Government Medical College, which is under construction in village Haibatpur, Jind district. This will help develop essential facilities and ensure the smooth functioning of the institution.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini directed officials to ensure that all approved development works are completed within the stipulated timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
