Ludhiana— The Ludhiana Rural Police have cracked the Jagraon Kabaddi player Tejpal Singh murder case within 48 hours. The incident, which took place on Hari Singh Road near the SSP office, had raised serious questions about law and order in the city and the functioning of the police.

During a press conference, Ludhiana Rural SSP Ankur Gupta informed that two main accused — Harpreet Singh alias Honey and Gagandeep Singh alias Gagna — have been arrested. Police also recovered illegal weapons from their possession.

SSP Gupta said that the arrested accused will be produced before the court to obtain police remand for further interrogation. He added that several police teams are conducting raids to nab the remaining absconding accused, who are expected to be arrested soon.

The murder of Tejpal Singh, a local Kabaddi player, had sparked public outrage, but the swift action by the police has brought some relief to the residents.
