Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Pakistan)— At least 30 people, including women and children, were killed after the Pakistan Air Force carried out an airstrike in Tirah Valley’s Matre Dara village around 2 a.m. on Sunday night. The military described the strikes as part of an “anti-terror action.”
Eyewitnesses said JF-17 fighter jets dropped nearly eight LS-6 bombs, reducing several houses to rubble. Villagers recalled being jolted awake by the roar of aircraft followed by a series of massive explosions that devastated the area.
While authorities claimed the operation targeted militants, local residents insisted that civilians were the primary victims. More than 20 people sustained injuries, and rescue teams from the police and army are engaged in relief efforts.
The attack has left the remote village in deep mourning, with families grieving the heavy toll.
