Apply Online for 7th National Water Awards by August 28

Chandigarh: The Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, has invited applications for the 7th National Water Awards. Eligible organisations, institutions, district administrations, urban local bodies, industries and other concerned entities that have undertaken notable work in the field of water conservation and management can apply for the awards.

A government spokesperson said that applications for the awards will be accepted online only through the National Awards Portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs at awards.gov.in. The last date for submission of applications is August 28. Eligible applicants can obtain detailed information from the National Awards Portal and the website of the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

He said that the 7th National Water Awards will be presented in various categories, including Best State, Best District, Best Urban Local Body, Best Project in the Water Sector, and Best Industry for CSR Initiatives in the Water Sector. The Best District category will also include sub-categories such as Water Resources Management, Water Conservation through Public Participation, and Jal Jeevan Mission.

He further said that water conservation is one of the most important needs of the present time. He urged the concerned departments, institutions, local bodies and other eligible entities in the districts to showcase their exemplary work in water conservation, rainwater harvesting, water resources management and judicious use of water by submitting applications within the stipulated deadline, so that their efforts can gain recognition at the national level.
