New Delhi: Around 10 passengers and crew members sustained minor injuries after an Air India flight operating from Phuket to New Delhi encountered severe mid-air turbulence during cruise on Tuesday. The in-flight event caused a momentary change in altitude before the aircraft stabilized and continued its journey to the capital.

Air India confirmed that flight AI2379 landed safely at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi, where all passengers and crew members disembarked normally. Following arrival, airport medical personnel and ground teams met the aircraft to assist those affected. A small number of individuals who reported minor injuries were immediately taken to an airport medical facility for precautionary evaluation and treatment.

An Air India spokesperson emphasized that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain the airline’s highest priority, confirming full cooperation with aviation authorities for the investigation. A detailed report regarding the incident is being submitted to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which will examine the circumstances surrounding the turbulence as part of standard safety oversight protocols.
