Faridkot (Punjab): In a major crackdown on narco-terror networks, Faridkot Police recovered 12.1 kilograms of heroin and arrested two suspected smugglers in an operation that lasted nearly two weeks.
According to police officials, the consignment was smuggled from Pakistan and recovered from Village Jhariwala under the jurisdiction of PS Sadar Faridkot. The seizure followed a source-based operation, carefully planned and executed by the district police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were in direct contact with Pakistan-based smugglers, indicating a larger transnational smuggling network. Police said efforts are underway to trace both backward and forward linkages of the nexus.
A case has been registered at PS Sadar Faridkot, and a detailed probe has been launched to uncover the full scale of the cross-border drug racket. Authorities stressed that Punjab Police remain committed to eliminating drug trafficking and ensuring public safety.
