New Delhi: A late-night encounter broke out between Delhi Police and suspected criminals in the Pushp Vihar area of South Delhi, leading to the arrest of three accused persons.
According to police, a joint team of the Special Staff and the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) launched an operation after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of the suspects in the area. Acting on the tip-off, the team surrounded the location to apprehend them.
As police moved in, the suspects allegedly opened fire in an attempt to escape. The police retaliated, and after a brief exchange of fire, all three accused were successfully apprehended.
Weapons and other suspicious items were recovered from the arrested individuals. Police have begun questioning the suspects and are examining their possible involvement in other criminal activities.
Authorities are also verifying the criminal records of the accused and investigating whether they have links to any organised crime networks. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
