The incident took place around 9:50 am in Gali Sitara, near Chawri Bazaar Metro station, according to officials cited by The Times of India.

Several Feared Trapped After Delhi Building Collapse
The number of people trapped under the rubble had not been ascertained in the initial reports. The circumstances that led to the collapse were also not immediately known.
The narrow lanes and closely packed buildings in the area could pose challenges for emergency teams accessing the site.
An initial report by Observer Online also reported one injured person, while several others were feared trapped. Authorities had not provided a confirmed final casualty count at the time of the available reports.
Delhi Building Collapse Raises Fresh Safety Concerns
The Chawri Bazaar incident comes nearly two months after a five-storey building housing a paying guest accommodation collapsed in south Delhi’s Satya Niketan on September 6, killing seven people.
The latest collapse has again brought attention to building safety in the national capital. However, the cause of the Chawri Bazaar collapse and whether any construction-related violations were involved have not yet been established.
Rescue operations were underway, with further details awaited from the authorities.
