Chandigarh: Popular rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh met BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and expressed concern over the growing drug menace in Punjab, calling for collective efforts to protect the state’s youth.

During the interaction, Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, spoke about the damaging impact of substance abuse on families and young people across Punjab. He stressed that the issue has become a major social challenge and said the state must come together to fight the crisis.

“Drugs are destroying families and affecting the younger generation. Punjab needs to be protected from this danger,” the singer said during the meeting.

Tarun Chugh praised the artist for his global popularity and influence among young audiences, describing him as a proud son of Punjab who has earned recognition worldwide through music and entertainment.

The BJP leader said he encouraged Honey Singh to use his voice, music and public influence to inspire youngsters to stay away from narcotics and choose a healthier path in life. According to Chugh, the singer responded positively and assured support for awareness efforts aimed at saving Punjab from drug addiction.

Referring to Honey Singh’s personal and professional comeback over the years, Chugh said his journey could serve as a message of hope for young people battling difficulties in life.

The meeting comes at a time when concerns over drug abuse continue to dominate political and social discussions in Punjab, with several organisations and leaders demanding stronger action and awareness campaigns to tackle the problem.
