CM unveils Rs 253 crore projects in Jind, major fillip for irrigation, roads, health and water supply

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday unveiled development projects worth Rs. 253 crore at a ‘Dhanyawad Evam Vikas Rally’  in Jind, signalling a major push to infrastructure and public services in the district. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stones of 12 projects worth Rs. 140 crore 87 lakh 8 thousand and inaugurated three projects with a combined cost of Rs. 112 crore 14 lakh 10 thousand.

Among the key inaugurations is the reconstruction of Jind Distributary No. 4, completed by the Irrigation and Water Resources Department at a cost of Rs. 16 crore 28 lakh 30 thousand. Also inaugurated were modern micro-irrigation systems at the village level, solar-powered irrigation facilities, and a balancing reservoir for water storage in Intal Khurd village, developed at a cost of Rs. 39 crore 49 lakh 80 thousand.

The Chief Minister also dedicated the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Library building at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, built at a cost of Rs. 56 crore 36 lakh. Furthermore, stepping up infrastructure push, the Chief Minister on Sunday laid the foundation stone of projects spanning agriculture marketing, housing, roads, health, drainage and water supply, including a purchase centre at Manoharpur village by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board at a cost of Rs 3 crore 18 lakh 81 thousand.

56 residential units for revenue officers in Officers’ Colony to be constructed by the Public Works Department (B&R) at Rs 16 crore 61 lakh 4 thousand, special repair of the Dalamwala–Jeevanpur–Nagura and Dariyawala–Barsola road, and widening and strengthening of the bypass connecting the Jind–Hansi and Jind–Bhiwani roads (RD 5.375 to 5.567, road ID 10121).

Further, the Chief Minister initiated the construction of an Integrated Sainik Sadan by the District Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department at a cost of Rs. 9 crore 98 lakh 40 thousand. In the health sector, a Community Health Centre will be set up at Kandela village at a cost of Rs. 9 crore 90 lakh 83 thousand. To improve drainage infrastructure, the Manoharpur drain excavation project has also been taken up by the Irrigation and Water Resources Department at a cost of Rs. 1 crore 9 lakh 19 thousand.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation for Public Health Engineering Department projects worth Rs. 35 crore 76 lakh 25 thousand. These include three canal-based water supply schemes in Jalalpura Kalan, Intal Kalan and Intal Khurd villages, along with the expansion of two existing schemes. Under these works, water supply will be provided to Sangatpura, Jajwan and Dhanda Kheri villages through a common pumping station and the laying of DI pipelines.
