Surrey: A residence belonging to Cricket Canada president Arvinder Khosa was struck by gunfire in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Surrey, British Columbia, prompting an active police investigation.
According to authorities, officers from the Surrey Police Service responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of 57 Avenue and 148 Street in the city’s Newton area at approximately 4:40 a.m. on May 20. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered multiple signs of gunfire damage on the property.
Investigators found several bullet impacts on the home, including damage to doors, windows and the rear portion of the building. The house was occupied during the incident, though no injuries were reported.
Khosa acknowledged that his property had been targeted but declined to comment further on the matter.
While police have not officially identified the homeowner, sources familiar with the case indicated the residence belongs to the Cricket Canada chief. Officials also stated that the investigation remains in its preliminary stages.
The case has now been handed over to the Surrey Police Service’s Extortion Response Team, raising speculation that the shooting may be linked to an extortion-related threat. Forensic specialists are continuing to examine the area for both physical and digital evidence.
Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance and have urged anyone with CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, or information related to potential suspects to contact investigators.
