Barnala: The Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has expelled two of its leaders for alleged indiscipline and anti-party activities, reiterating that the organisation will not tolerate any action that goes against party interests.
Addressing the media, senior advocate and Shiromani Akali Dal in-charge for the Bhadaur assembly segment, Satnam Singh Rahi, said the party’s interests are paramount and discipline will be strictly enforced. He made it clear that whether a worker is new or old, any individual found opposing the party’s authorised candidate contesting on the Akali Dal symbol will face stringent action.
As part of this move, Dogar Singh of Ugoke and Bhagwan Singh Bhana have been expelled from the party. The decision was taken following allegations that both leaders were involved in activities contrary to party discipline. The action was initiated on the recommendation of Circle President Kamaljit Singh Maud and based on a complaint lodged by Mahinder Singh, the party’s candidate from Bhagatpura Maud.
According to party sources, both leaders had openly opposed the officially nominated Shiromani Akali Dal candidate contesting the elections on the party symbol. Rahi said their conduct was in clear violation of party policies and organisational discipline, leaving the leadership with no option but to remove them from the party with immediate effect.
He emphasised that the action was aimed at maintaining internal discipline and strengthening the organisation ahead of elections. Rahi added that the Shiromani Akali Dal is a disciplined party and there is no place for individuals who work against the organisation or undermine its collective interests.
The party leadership, he said, has sent a clear message that factionalism or internal opposition during elections will not be tolerated. Any worker deviating from the party line will face action without discrimination.
