Amritsar: In a major breakthrough against organized crime and cross-border networks, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Amritsar and Counter-Intelligence Jalandhar, in a coordinated operation with a central agency, successfully dismantled a dangerous gangster module. The joint operation resulted in the apprehension of three active operatives and the recovery of three sophisticated foreign-made pistols along with a substantial cache of ammunition. A formal First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the SSOC Police Station in Amritsar to initiate detailed legal proceedings against the accused.
Preliminary investigations conducted by law enforcement officials reveal that the detained operatives were executing tasks directly under the command of foreign-based handlers. These overseas masterminds are reportedly involved in orchestrating violent gang wars, running extortion rackets, and managing various disruptive operations to disturb the peace within Punjab. Acting as local modules, the arrested individuals were responsible for transporting illegal weapon consignments across the region and executing targeted criminal acts at the behest of their handlers.
The tracking of the suspects has also exposed their direct involvement in multiple recent violent crimes across the state, including a registered murder case under the Amritsar Police Commissionerate and an attempted murder case in Batala. Senior police officials stated that the ongoing investigation is intensely focused on tracing the broader logistics network, identifying hidden local associates, uncovering past criminal involvements, and completely neutralizing the syndicate. The Punjab Police re-established their commitment to maintaining public safety and executing uncompromising operations against all organized anti-social elements across the state.
