Tarn Taran: In a significant breakthrough in the Tarn Taran murder case, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in collaboration with Tarn Taran Police, has arrested the second accused, Arshdeep Singh, also known as Arsh, in connection with the brutal killing of Jagdeep Mola. Arshdeep, a resident of Batth village in Tarn Taran, was apprehended following a swift and coordinated operation by the police.

This arrest comes after the AGTF successfully detained Rahul Singh, the prime accused, earlier this year. Singh, along with Arsh, is believed to have played a crucial role in the murder of Jagdeep Mola, which occurred in March 2025.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that two unidentified assailants, including Arshdeep, arrived on a motorcycle near Gurudwara Sri Darbar Sahib in Tarn Taran. The assailants opened fire on Jagdeep Singh, killing him on the spot, before fleeing the scene. The incident sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the increasing violence linked to organized crime in the region.

The Punjab Police, through the AGTF, has reiterated its commitment to dismantling criminal networks and tackling gang violence across the state. The operation reflects the police’s determination to ensure justice for victims and to maintain public safety by targeting and neutralizing organized criminal elements.

“The arrest of Arshdeep Singh is a testament to our relentless pursuit of justice. We will continue to work tirelessly with local law enforcement to ensure that individuals involved in such heinous acts are brought to justice,” said a spokesperson from the AGTF.

The arrest of both accused individuals marks a critical step in solving the murder case, but investigations are still ongoing. Authorities have assured the public that they will continue to follow all leads and ensure that all those involved in the crime are held accountable.

The Punjab Police’s aggressive approach towards gang violence and organized crime continues to receive support from local communities, who are hopeful that such swift actions will restore safety and security in the region.
