PSEB Says Duplicate Certificates Won’t Be Issued Without Police Report

Chandigarh: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced that it will no longer issue duplicate academic certificates unless a valid police report regarding their loss or damage is submitted. This decision comes as part of measures to prevent forgery and misuse of academic credentials.

According to the new rule, students seeking a duplicate certificate will have to file a formal complaint with the police and attach the copy of the FIR along with their application. PSEB officials said this step is necessary to curb illegal use of duplicate documents and safeguard the authenticity of its academic records.

The policy clarifies that only after verification of the FIR and other supporting paperwork will the board consider issuing a duplicate certificate. Those unable to produce a police report will have their application rejected. The board expects this move to enhance transparency and trust in its certification process.
