According to preliminary information, the attackers arrived in a black Scorpio SUV and fired multiple rounds at the youths sitting outside the shop. Five people were injured in the incident and were taken for treatment, where two later succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Gagan Jindal, 30, and Sahil Jindal, 40. Both belonged to the same family.

Five Injured In Late-Night Shooting

Reports indicate that four to five youths were sitting outside the shop when the assailants allegedly began firing. One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head, two were shot in the abdomen and another was hit in the arm. A fifth person was reportedly injured by pellet fragments.

Three injured people remain in serious condition, according to the information available.

A previous dispute between the two sides is suspected to have led to the shooting. However, the motive has not been officially established, and the circumstances surrounding the attack remain under investigation.

Senior police officials reached the scene after receiving information about the incident. Moga Senior Superintendent of Police Sartaj Singh Chahal said investigators had begun examining CCTV footage from cameras installed in the area.

A forensic team also collected evidence from the spot as part of the investigation.

The shooting also triggered political reactions, with opposition leaders raising concerns over law and order in Punjab.

Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal criticised Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging that law and order in the state had deteriorated and that criminals were operating without fear.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot also commented on the incident on social media, saying it reflected a deepening crisis in public safety and governance in Punjab.

Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia questioned the state government over the recurring incidents of firing and alleged that residents were increasingly concerned about security.

The police investigation into the Moga shooting is ongoing. Investigators are examining CCTV footage, gathering forensic evidence and recording statements to identify those responsible and establish the motive behind the attack.
