Mohali: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau is set to file a massive chargesheet today in the disproportionate assets case against senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia.

Officials confirmed that the voluminous document runs over 40,000 pages and will soon be submitted before the Mohali court. The chargesheet reportedly exposes illegal and benami properties worth nearly ₹700 crore.

The investigation involved scrutiny of more than 400 bank accounts and testimonies of over 200 witnesses, which have been included in the chargesheet. Vigilance teams also carried out checks across 15 locations in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi before finalizing the report.

Sources said that statements of several Akali Dal and BJP leaders also figure in the document. The bureau emphasized that the chargesheet is being filed within the stipulated time frame, ensuring compliance with legal procedures.

The case against Majithia has drawn significant political attention, and the fresh filing is expected to intensify the legal battle.
