Ludhiana: A tragic road accident on Kailash Nagar Road claimed the life of a young man from Ludhiana. The victim, identified as Ritesh, was on his way to get a Rakhi tied by his sister when a speeding Swift car fatally struck his two-wheeler.

According to eyewitness accounts, Ritesh, who worked at a chicken shop near Tiger Safari Zoo, was riding his Activa scooter towards Kailash Nagar Road. As he approached the Jagdish Marble area, a Swift car, reportedly bearing registration number PB-39-M0601, hit him at high speed. The driver did not stop and fled the scene immediately.

Local resident Payal Deen, who was cycling nearby, witnessed the accident. “The car was moving recklessly and directly hit Ritesh’s scooter,” he said. Another passerby, who recognized the injured man as his friend’s son, rushed him to the hospital. Sadly, doctors declared him dead upon arrival due to severe head and chest injuries.

Police have registered a case and launched a search for the car’s driver. The incident has left the community in shock, especially as Ritesh’s journey was meant to mark a joyful Raksha Bandhan celebration.
