Faridkot: Faridkot Police have claimed a major breakthrough against cross-border drug smuggling after arresting four people allegedly linked to a network involved in bringing heroin and illegal weapons into Punjab.
Police said 47.3 kg of heroin, along with three pistols, three magazines, 15 live cartridges and two vehicles, was recovered during the operation.
Four Arrested In Faridkot Drug Smuggling Case
According to the initial investigation, the four arrested accused are allegedly connected to a network involved in the smuggling of heroin and illegal weapons across the border and their subsequent distribution in Punjab.
Police have registered an FIR at Sadiq Police Station in Faridkot in connection with the case.
47.3 Kg Heroin And Weapons Recovered
The seizure includes 47.3 kg of heroin, three pistols, three magazines and 15 live cartridges. Two vehicles allegedly linked to the operation were also recovered.
Police are now investigating the wider network and attempting to establish the accused’s alleged links and other individuals involved in the smuggling operation.

Faridkot Police said further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the alleged cross-border smuggling network and identify its wider connections.
The Punjab Police said it remains focused on preventing cross-border drug trafficking and taking action against organised criminal networks involved in narcotics and illegal weapons.
