Chandigarh: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred two senior IAS officers of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, marking a significant administrative shift in Chandigarh.
According to the official order, H. Rajesh Prasad, a 1995-batch IAS officer presently serving in Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Chandigarh with immediate effect.
In another key move, Ankur Garg, a 2003-batch IAS officer currently posted in Arunachal Pradesh, has been designated as the Advisor to the Administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DN&DD).
Prasad’s appointment comes at a crucial juncture for Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, as the city grapples with challenges in urban planning, infrastructure expansion, and governance reforms.
Known for his efficiency and experience in managing complex administrative roles in Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir, Prasad is expected to bring stability and strategic direction to Chandigarh’s governance framework.
