Chandigarh: Senior BJP Leader Ravneet Singh Bittu, announced on Monday that the Central Government has greenlit the establishment of three new Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals in Punjab. The new medical facilities are slated to be constructed in the towns of Lalru, Rajpura, and Malerkotla, representing a strategic expansion of healthcare infrastructure tailored for the state’s industrial workforce.

The initiative is designed to significantly increase the accessibility of quality medical services for the organized sector. According to official estimates shared by the Union Minister, the project will extend healthcare coverage and social security benefits to more than 11.73 lakh insured employees and over 53.75 lakh dependents across the region.

Minister Bittu described the approval as a priority mandate of the Narendra Modi-led administration, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of workers. By placing these hospitals in key industrial hubs like Lalru, Rajpura, and Malerkotla, the government aims to provide localized and reliable healthcare support for the state’s labor force, thereby reducing the burden on existing regional health institutions and ensuring comprehensive medical care for beneficiaries.
